The club have a long tradition of making a positive impact in their local community both on and off the pitch and this new partnership with Abby’s Heroes deepens this commitment.
The season will kick with a very special match on Friday July 18th when a team of Saints Legends will visit the Deer Park Stadium in Hedge End to face a team of coaches from the various Hedge End Rangers Teams. The Saints Legends team are hoping to include former Southampton stars James Beattie, Rickie Lambert, Matt Le Tissier, Glenn Cockerill and many more.

Hedge End Rangers Club Chairman Tim Lush commented “We are delighted that our First Team will proudly wear the Abby’s Heroes logo on the front of their shirts this season, it’s a very visible symbol of our commitment to the local community and supporting local charities. We are excited to partner with Abby's Heroes and kick off a year of fundraising with this exciting match against Saints Legends.”

David Fawcett from Abby’s Heroes added “We are extremely grateful to everyone at Hedge End Rangers for supporting us in such an exciting, positive way. It’s going to be a brilliant season with the opportunity to work alongside the club in raising awareness of Abby’s Heroes work, promoting fundraising initiatives and engaging with their players, members and supporters!”

The opportunity to have the Abby’s Heroes logo on the team shirts is only possible because of the amazing support of Macron, our longstanding kit and equipment supplier, and Creative Lifestyle Planning whose sponsorship and collaboration have played a vital role in bringing this initiative to life.

Joining the Saints Legends at the match on July 18th will be the Abby’s Heroes unicorn Mascot Abbycorn who will be leading the teams out and meeting the crowd!

Our club is growing rapidly, with 1,600 members and 646 players. We’re very community-focused and committed to making football accessible and affordable for local families. At present, the club operates on a very slim margin—just a couple of pounds per head over the course of a season.

Our men’s first team is pushing for promotion to the Wessex League, but we’re currently facing challenges due to ground and facility requirements that need to be met to progress.

We’re also expanding our girls and women’s section, now running seven teams from U8s to U18s. We're aiming to launch a women’s first team within the next two seasons. Alongside this, we run two weekly social football events—women’s football and walking football.

Our Soccer Centre for children in school years R to 6 is thriving, though we're currently oversubscribed and hoping to bring in more coaches so we can welcome more young players.
We pride ourselves on being a community club, trying to provide affordable football to as many as possible within our community.
