Three weeks ago Yelysei arrived in the UK having fled Ukraine. He left due to his home town being taken over by Russians where his grandparents still remain in the family home.

On Sunday he played his first match on English soil scoring 2 goals for Hedge End Rangers U15's in a 4-1 win!! His memorable day topped off by being voted 'Man of the Match'!
He doesn't speak English, however we were all united when he scored and his dad waved the Ukrainian flag with a huge smile across his face!!

We are so proud that grassroots football has given him and his family an environment to find happiness!
